Team: 14U Girls West Experience: 2024 Smash Development team U13 Girls, Head Coach 2010-2011 Vancouver Volleyball Club - U15 Girls Sting, Assistant Coach 2001 Air Attack Volleyball Club - U15 Girls, Assistant Coach Biography: Whether it’s recreational or competitive volleyball, Lieon has always enjoyed competing, teaching and meeting players he meet everywhere he has been. After playing volleyball and football in high school, Lieon continued to pursue playing volleyball by playing with USAV AA/B Men’s team in Austin, Texas while completing his Master’s degree in Kinesiology (1998-2001) and then later on playing on the Duke University’s Men club volleyball team (2004-2007) while completing his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He achieved conference all-star in 2005-2006 season. Lieon also has experienced playing in the Asian 9-man tournament with L.A. Mad Dogs in 2006 in Washington D.C. finishing 1st in the consolation finals. After graduation from Duke University, Lieon has continued to play competitively with local teams in Seattle and Vancouver, B.C. During his time while playing volleyball, Lieon has always contributed his time to assist with practices with many of his friends’ club/high school volleyball teams including local Vancouver high schools and club teams, Austin Juniors (Texas) and Duke Men’s Club Volleyball team. Lieon is looking forward to provide a positive environment for his players to learn the game as well as becoming better sportsperson overall. Lieon’s focus will always be improving from volleyball basics so they will be well prepared to learn more advanced skills. Lieon’s long term goal for his players to be students of the game throughout their lifetime and hope they will be volleyball players for life. |
